Dr. Mohammed Umar is a doctor with an overriding interest in developing meaningful public health interventions, with the aim of providing standard level healthcare in areas of limited resources.
His pet interest is in Cerebrovascular diseases and Medicine of Old Age (Geriatric Medicine). He has achieved vast experience of public health work being involved in USAID-sponsored Polio Eradication program via Community Participation for Action in the Social Sector (COMPASS).
Dr. Umar is an alumnus of the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, and has a Masters degree in Public Health from the School of Medicine, University of Dundee, Scotland.
He also obtained his Diploma of Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom and is a collegiate member of the Royal College of Physicians of London.
Dr. Umar is a member of various professional organization including the European and World Stroke organization, British Geriatric society and a premium professional member of the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association.
